Julie Dingwell has been executive director of AIDS Saint John since 1999 and a founding member and chair of the Sex Trade Action Committee (STAC) since 2005. She has participated in several research projects and is a co-applicant for the CIHR project Promising Practices in the Engagement of People Living With or At-Risk for HIV/AIDS in Rural Canada. In 2011, along with Commissioner Bill Reid of the Saint John Police Service, she produced a harm reduction video for York University. Ms. Dingwell works to encourage the active participation of people who use drugs in small rural communities across Canada and has an interest in policy development around substance abuse issues. She brings frontline experience dealing with the many barriers to harm reduction.
